Skin vitality is only out for money, nothing more. Skin vitality offers services for a discount but don't be foolish, you won't see results at all after any treatments . It's a total scam.

Multiple back and forth via email with the company to try and access my digital health records and raw photos taken of my face - which they refuse to provide! Raw digital photos can tell me if the photos have been edited and not manipulated in any way since they claim their policy is for clients to come directly into the office to view coloured versions of their before and after photos.

How do I know they haven’t been edited before being printed? Not like I can trust them, after what happened to my face. I am still trying to obtain a refund for treatments not completed - director of patient care appears to be unwilling to come to a reasonable resolution. In order to agree to a refund for non- completed treatments I essentially have to sign a *** order.

They are basically holding my money hostage. May need to look into legal action to recoup money lost and services/treatments/products paid for after my last visit with Skin Vitality, to rectify the damage sustained to my skin. The fact that I was asking for a full refund of all treatments paid for, including fraxel, is a drop in the bucket compared to what I paid overall to rectify these concerns. They should be lucky, I’m willing to accept a refund of only the non-completed treatments of laser hair removal.

Originally asked for the total amount paid, which they said they couldn’t do because they don’t provide refunds on completed treatments. I was willing to accept that, until they hit me with a resolution agreement intending to silence me. As consumers, a lot of private companies and medical spas bank on consumers not knowing their rights. Recently Skin Vitality publicaly published my full first name on public review sites like google.

My first full name is incredibly identifiable so I go by a nickname. They violated PHIPA, and this violation is considered a breach of privacy; other information about my case was also published. I’m not the only one this has happened to, consumers/patients should report them to the privacy commission! Also, again, not a doctor or lawyer - so you’re welcome to consider all your options.

This post is to ensure consumers are aware of some of their rights around such issues. But please seek legal counsel for comprehensive recommendations. Just a few things to consider if consumers are having a hard time settling concerns with the clinic.

Taking the legal road may be necessary if patients have to go to another clinic for botched treatments they received. As consumers, we have more options than we think we do.

Not a doctor or lawyer but a client. Here's my experience & tips on how clients can hold clinics accountable.

If you've been injured by a clinic, file a personal injury claim ASAP, some lawyers may have no upfront costs; try Law Society of Ontario to find a representative. Or report them to the Ministry of Public & Business Service Delivery, through Consumer Protection Ontario. Ontarians have up to 2 years to file. Filing around the time the procedure occurred will make it easier for lawyers to gather relevant evidence to prove that harm or negligence occurred.

DO NOT WAIT TO FILE! The sooner you file, the easier it is to reach a settlement because the injuries will be obvious & provable. Here's some tips: 1) document everything; 2) take before & after pictures, even while you heal; 3) gather medical data: when & where the treatments were completed, the settings used if lasers were involved, products used, & staff that worked on you 4) reach out to a lawyer for further steps. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to prove your case/claim.

My experience: Ive visited many clinics in the past, & this is one of the worst clinics hands down. Not only did they damage/burn my skin by using a fraxel setting not suitable for my skin type (South Asian), but there were also 2 people in the room (one who may have been a trainee & one who maybe was a trainer). The "trainer" walked in & didnt even know what my concerns were, asking if it was Melasma. I have hyperpigmentation, she would have known that had she read my file.

I reached out several times but it took them forever to respond. SV had the audacity to charge me $30 for a black & white photo of what my face looked like before the injury, even though colored photos were necessary to review the differences in my skin. How is a black & white photo going to accurately show the difference in my skin? After a few exchanges with SVs director of patient care & after yielding to their demand to return to the clinic for additional photos to be taken, I was told there were no visible injuries between the before & after photos.

FYI- about 1.5 to 2 years went by between the before & after photos, during which time I spent money on other treatments to rectify the damage SV had done; these post-SV treatments have improved the tone & appearance of my skin but have not completely resolved the injuries sustained. They claim they see nothing wrong & still refuse to provide colored copies of the photos taken on day one, which is suspect. Withholding this information only works in their favor, which I assume is why they are hesitant to share the pre-treatment photos taken in color. After all this, they were not able to provide a refund for the fraxel treatments completed, stating it is their policy to not offer refunds for completed treatments; okay, that makes sense.

However, they refuse to refund the laser hair removal treatments I did purchase, but never went back to complete - because why would I go back to a clinic that already damaged my skin? They stated: before a refund can be processed they want me to agree to the following: I accept a refund of $565.00 as the final resolution to my concern. I agree to remove all disparaging reviews posted online; to confirm with the BBB that my complaint has been resolved; not to discuss this complaint or any other complaint/concern &/or resolution verbally or in writing on public forums, Google, including emails, the internet, & social networking sites. [&] I am voluntarily agreeing to everything in this agreement & signing while sound of mind with no impairments to my emotional state or judgment." These demands seem absurd, don't they?

Thus, I have decided to forgo the refund to ensure others who have been harmed by cosmetic clinics or those interested in seeking treatments from SV are warned about the dangers they may come across.

I hope my experience might shed light on what others can do to protect themselves & how they can take legal action to hold these clinics accountable. If you need help, google personal injury claim, to get started.

THEY TRY TO PRESSURE YOU

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

IF YOURE LOOKING FOR A MEDI SPA LOOK FURTHER!!! I booked a consultation for lip injections, i just wanted to learn more about it and see if it was something id want, i walked in signed a waver on their ipad then went into their office for a consultation.

the lady i was talking to was very brief, told me i would need 1ml (full syringe) of injections and then told me shell bring the nurse in to assess me so their nurse comes in and asks what medications im on, tells me that i would need hard filler (which i did NOT want) and then told me they were going to set up the room for me. That moment i was so confused as this was a consultation, they were very rushed and pushy telling me to go to the front and pay so i tapped my card for $200 (HUGE mistake i know) but i was panicking and overwhelmed, literally shaking and they didnt ask if i was okay they just told me dont be nervous be excited i said i dont want to get anything done that day and asked if i could come back the following day. So i left without getting anything and before i left the one girl hands me a card with her name and goes if you leave a good review you get a free lip flip so thats why all the reviews are good and not to mention they delete their bad reviews. I decided that was really weird and bad vibes, everything was off about that whole consultation, i shouldnt have been rushed and pressured into getting a filler i didnt want.

Also they did not disclose with me what exactly it was they were wanting to inject me with just said hard filler which is EW. So i went back the next day asked them for a refund and she said we dont do refunds only exchanges and gift cards i said no i want my money back then she tells me to email the refund department. so you dont do refunds but theres a refund department? sus.

I emailed them and went back and forth with this incompetent person who told me i need a doctors note for a refund.. why would i need a dr note for a refund but not for the injections? then she tells me to delete my review and then theyll give me my refund?? Unprofessional, im entitled to review your business and also get my refund.

which is why im writing this now. So the review was taken down and then she goes delete the rating and then well refund you im sorry what the *** kind of business is this? i ended up getting my refund after almost a week of going back and forth with this representative. But this whole situation was so unprofessional, and i could tell they were trying to make the refund process as inconvenient as possible so that id give up; but i did not.

You want to rush and pressure people into getting procedures when they come in for a CONSULTATION not an appointment? ive seen multiple reviews saying this same thing from various locations which leads me to believe this business might as well be a pyramid scheme and all follow the same protocol of trying to force people to get injections and whatnot when they book a consultation.

Not to mention all their pages DO NOT post results and the results that i did find look absolutely botched. BEWARE AND DO RESEARCH BEFORE GETTING ANY MEDI SPA SERVICE AND DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY

Service was not completed, did not work, getting refund or contact them is difficult

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

In their testimonial regarding Faxel, I went to them but it not only did not work, it was not concluded as they forgot to book me! I contacted the Vice President of the company, but it took her months to respond.

Then she stated that she had sent my request for a refund, adding that this was one of my options. I have been waiting for my refund and left a voicemail and emailed her back again. Her email stated that she did send the request and it was beyond her control (despite her being the Vice President!) She then asked me to email them, also mentioning that they have no contact number.

How can she not have a contact number! This company is not truthful.

Report to the nurses (cno) or doctors college (cpso) for unethical practices. File complaint with consumer protection Ontario.

Take them to small claims court. ASAP.

I was in for my appointment at Skin Vitality and was very happy with the service I received. Out of interest, I checked the reviews and was shocked to see some negative ones, so I wanted to make sure I shared my experience.

All the staff I met with and engaged with were extremely kind, welcoming, patient, and thorough. The doctor who did my Botox treatment was amazing, and the nurse who did my laser hair removal was so thorough and nice. Every time I go in, their medical consultant team gives me the best deal available, and I walk out feeling like a better me.

Thanks to Skin Vitality as always. I can't wait for my next treatment.

Trust issues with injectors

Went for a review follow up over 6 weeks after procedure. The RN injector blatantly watched the upper cheeks which she never filled and orbitals and recomended nothing - too proud to use the previous injectors notes.

Being respectful, and knowing some of these injectors are unprofessional and what's worse, it seems emotionally driven (so bad day = bad job) - I said nothing. My trust is out the window.

The quality of their products compared to 7 years ago is not lasting - is it possible they are using dysport instead of botox? I don't feel safe here nor do I feel I got the results I typically got prior.Sad.

Disappointing Experience, Rude Service, and Ineffective Treatment

I recently visited Skin Vitality for a lip flipping procedure, hoping to enhance my smile. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.

From the moment I walked in, the receptionist seemed disinterested, and the atmosphere felt unwelcoming.

The real disappointment began when I met with the practitioner - Amanda. She was dismissive of my concerns and seemed rushed throughout the consultation. Despite explaining my desire for a lip flip to enhance the appearance of my smile, she recommended I wait 15 days for the full effect of the treatment.

After patiently waiting and seeing absolutely no change in my lips, I returned back. This time, I was met with even more frustration as I requested a different person who also casually informed me that there was nothing more she could do.

The lack of empathy and refusal to acknowledge my concerns left me feeling completely ignored and disrespected as a customer. Now Im out of the money and time spent, with nothing to show for it.

Overall, my experience was a huge disappointment.

The staff's rudeness and the ineffective treatment have left me questioning their professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction. I would strongly advise anyone considering treatments at this med spa to look elsewhere for a more caring and competent service provider.

Resolved: Cheated and mislead

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.

Original review May 09, 2024
I paid over $600 for Botox. I completed a customer review after treatment and was given 10 free units.

I was sent another review and was offered an additional 10 units of Botox for free. The offer was from the owner.
I went back in after 2 weeks needing more than a touch up. I was sad and depressed because the $600 did not get results except in my forehead. I needed the 10 units to address my chin area which hadn't been touched.
I was told NO, only 10 units per customer, it was an administrative mistake.
I was in tears.

I'm getting married in 4 months and really wanted results. I was excited to have 10 units to help get more results.
I feel it's a scam to get customers to complete glowing reviews.

The administrative mistake left me feeling miserable and misled. I'm disappointed and hope others don't receive a lie about free units.

Hello team,

I consulted and was recommended for two vital treatments of Belkyra at Skin Vitality Lakeshore Mississauga clinic on January 19, 2024.

However, even after the treatment, I am not seeing any improvement with the problem area in my chin.

I am very unhappy with the treatment provided. The treatment itself cost more than 1000 dollars; I am really looking forward to some form of resolution from the team.

Please help me with this issue and get it resolved as soon as possible.

Beware of Nurses Who Are Really Sales People in Disguise!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

A few weeks ago I drove my wife to Skin Vitality's Eglinton location.

She had questions about Botox. What areas needed treatment and the cost.

Twenty minutes later, my wife came back to the car with a receipt

for over $1800 for 30 units of Botox and three fillers. The sales person

(nurse) told her that this price was a half price special and pushed her

into having the treatment immediately. They work on commission and don't want you to leave and compare prices at other clinics.

I called them a few days ago, after fuming about this unethical business practice for a few weeks. I told the manager that I wanted a $750 refund or I would tell others of my experience.

She said that the owners of the clinics (they have 18 locations) would contact me.

She said I would hear back in a couple of days. So far I have heard nothing.

If you still want to visit one of their clinics for information and pricing, I suggest you leave your credit card at home.

Bad experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had a phone for a consultation and a quick price estimate. Quoted at $195 per IPL Treatment which is reasonable.

Then went into the Stoneycreek location for a consultation. I thought they would look at my skin and give treatment recommendations. The office was so dark you couldn't see a thing, the women didn't even look at my skin and then gave me a price of $300 but then said there is a sale for $250. I was still interested so I went called the location where the IPL machine is located to book an apt.

The women then gave me a price of $350 per session which is crazy. I complained to her that Ive been given inconsistent prices. She then came up with a price of $175 if I buy 3 sessions.

Clearly they are trying to rip people off and get as much money as they can out of you. This really rubbed me the wrong way and tells me a lot about the company.
